OF CONNECTION

2026

This body of work explores abstraction through the tension between organic form and open space. Camilleri combines layered surfaces, gestural marks and restrained fields of colour, bringing together deep teal, ochre and muted earth tones to create compositions that suggest both landscape and bodily presence without settling into representation.

The works balance density and emptiness, allowing forms to emerge and dissolve within the picture plane. Through this interplay of materiality, gesture and spatial ambiguity, the collection examines the threshold between the recognisable and the abstract, and the ways in which visual memory shapes our perception of place.
